It would be incredibly easy for me to talk solely about how awesome the club is, the history, the legends and the future, but, I want to talk about the role too, as it's a fantastic opportunity. It's so interesting, the numbers actually come to life and the challenges come thick and fast.
Do I need to be a football buff to apply?
Not really, but, it would help understand the way the club and the finances operate is so different to other businesses. I think having an interest in football, or any other sport would help you truly understand the numbers. So it's not essential, but, I think it would help.
What's the team structure?
So, the role reports to the Head of Finance, who in turn reports to the CFO. The role will help develop a small team, the team are talented and hard-working.
What are my prospects?
The club have ambition, a new stand is coming, drive to reach the Premier League is running throughout the club. As things grow, the challenges in finance do, and your manager wants to give you the tools to continue to progress. You won't be stuck in this role forever for sure.
What's my Day to Day job?
A tough one, as day to day in a football club doesn't really exist. Transfers could be happening, new contracts being negotiated, cup draws, injuries and many other things happen which add to the intrigue in the role. The core duties though will include:
